Dr. Estay worked in the field of Rehabilitation Psychology for 32 years. She managed Professional Resources with Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) Calgary Community Board; she is an Adjunct Professor for the Applied Psychology Department and Campus Alberta at the University of Calgary.
She has taught at Phoenix University, Mount Royal College and Meritus University. She has done extensive studies in the areas of Self-Esteem, Peak Performance and Psychology of Achievement. She has trained in these topics for several years with Jack Canfield well know writer, author from the Chicken Soup for the Soul Series.
As a Doctoral Student she researched the concept of Vision trying to identify the variables that account for success in individual with challenging lives. For her volunteer work with women in Alberta and British Columbia she was selected as a Nominee for the YWCA Women of Distinction Award in 1997 and also she was also nominated for the Immigrant of the year Award in 1998.
In 1995 she created the organization Openings, which provided learning opportunities for women in the areas of self-esteem and life accomplishments. Openings under the auspices of Calgary Family Services served approximately 2500 women from different walks of life. The outcomes of the program have been well documented by the evaluation of the participants as well as by the amazing life changes events that some participants have experienced. In 2008 the program became part of Calgary Family Services and was run in conjunction with CARE Society.
Dr Estay is also an author, in her book : Here I am Lessons Learned, she highlights the areas of her life that were stopping her in finding balance and wellness and how the principles that she teaches in her seminars allowed her to re direct her journey to find an overall sense of joy and wellness.
Her latest passion is developing all her material into easy to follow online programs through Foundation of Me Workshops, to impact more people and reach a broader audience with her simple and effective steps for change that will take you and your organization in your journey to excellence with confidence and successful strategies to find your own path to joy, wellness and fulfilment in life.
